I do work in Brooklyn; Manhattan and Staten Island. I see metrocards all the time.. I LOVED all the information you gave about finding them and the money left on them; and combining them.
Wow.. I'm going to do this from now on.. Pick up cards and check at the self-checkers.. sounds fun and a great frugal easy thing to do.
