I took a few days of from blogging

On of my old friends is in the process of adopting a little boy from Haiti.  The paper work is crazy slow.  Crazy slow because there is not so much of a government in Haiti.  So Michael and Erin Lancer get to visit him every few months.

Erin ran the Disney Marathon on Sunday and flew to Haiti on Monday to see her son Geoff.  Tuesday evening Haiti was rocked by an earthquake.

So I have not felt like posting my usual snarly comments.

But I will jump directly to the good news.Preview

You can read about Erin in the Buffalo News, listen to Mike talk about her on WBFO, watch the WGRZ TV news or the WKBW TV news.

There is one thing that the media did not point out regarding Erin.  Can you see below that we finished the 2008 NYC Marathon 5 seconds apart.  Yes, but we did not run together, we did not even see each other that day.  So I guess I have some supernatural connection to Erin, because I have not felt OK since I realized the airport was destroyed and she was stranded in a country that did not have much of an infrastructure before most of the buildings collapsed.

So as I type this she is on her way home and I am looking forward to meeting Geoff soon!
