A party for the Boy!

Today we celebrated my sons 10th birthday.  Took him and 5 friends to the movies.  We saw Iron Man 2.  It was a 2 hour movie that was an hour and a half of fake fighting scenes.  I was board, the boys thought it was great.  I guess it was not for me.  Then we went out for pizza at Sal's Pizzeria.  The Pizza was pretty good and nobody cared if we acted like a bunch of wild banshees because we sat outside on Degraw St.

The boy loved it.  Especially the acting like a wild banshee part.  But for me the highlight was stopping on the way home at the corner of 3rd Ave and 10th Street.  I have been keeping an eye on that intersection because all week long the MTA has been accumulating truck loads of subway track.  On Thursday I asked one of the workers if they were gonna move the track up to the elevated Culver Ave Viaduct,   He said yea.  I said that is kinda cool.  The guy actualy said "No it is not kinda cool, it is really cool!"  Yea, the Culver Ave Viaduct is a subway station that is built OVER a 4 lane draw bridge.

These photos do not do it justice.
