Daddy Day Camp, Season III Day 1

We went over to the Library to pick up some summer reading. One of the perks of living where I live is being around the corner from the "Central Branch". It is a great library, almost like a tourist attraction, full of local art in the lobby and open 7 days a week some times till 9 at night! Many of the other 65 branches are only open 3 or 4 days a week and close at 5 p.m. That kinda sucks if you wanna get a book after a day at work.

So The kids pick out some books and the girl wants to go upstairs to a quiet place and read. We are in the History / Politics / Biography section (I could never figure out the Dewey Decimal System, but if it is so great, why doesn't Barnes and Nobel use it?, that is another rant.) I leave my kids at a giant table to go get a copy of the book I am currently reading, Truman, and when I am like 20 feet away I hear the most specular fart in my life. Click here and go to Slo-Mo-Bio for an accurate reproduction. My girl kept trying to read, but my boy thought this was the greatest thing that ever happened in the same room as he was in his life.

Then we went over to the Arch at Grand Army Plaza to play the piano. Really. Play me, I'm Yours. There are pianos everywhere for the summer. They are so 2010, each piano has it's own blog. Very 2010.

Then we mighta broke some rules, but I let the kids get REALLY wet in the spray of the fountain.

And look, it was 1:05 pm. That accurate clock was just over a mile away, atop the Williamsburg Savings Bank Building at One Hanson Place. I got my braces installed there, but that is also another rant.

  1. I got my braces there too! Why, oh why did we drive from Sheepshead Bay all the way to downtown Brooklyn? Interesting blog...Enjoy your summer in the city.
