Teeming with maggots

When visiting family in my old neighborhood I often walk by many newly vacant lots. Same old story.  Some developers bought a property with a big house on it and tore it down.  They started building something gigantic on it but did not bother to check on the zoning regulations and / or ran out of money.  So on my mother-in- laws corner there is a corner property that has no home on it and is surrounded by plywood fencing.

View Larger Map or TWIST IT AROUND, YOU WILL SEE THERE IS A PLAYGROUND ACROSS THE STREET

I am talking bout 2820 Ave Z on the corner of E 29th Street in Sheepshead Bay.  According to BlockShopper it was bought for $300,000.00 in May of 2009.  My friends at Sheepshead Bites have been keeping track of it here, here and here

Yesterday when I walked by the sidewalk was the usual minefield of dog owner poop.  But is was worse.  There was a plastic bag of rotting meat.  So rotting that it was overflowing with maggots.  No, I am not going to zoom in or post a video.  That is even to disgusting for me. (If you want discussing click this, but it is really bad.)

So I walked the kids down the block to the MIL's house and doubled back to call 311.  After 28 minutes mostly on hold I was able to file this report.  (If it is not clickable, look up Service Request Number: C1-1-663840971)

Let's see how it goes.  Maybe if they planed on building a Masque on this property the neighbors might complain.

  1. ugh. I really hate it when people litter on the street. Mark and I patrol all the time when people fail to pick up their dog's poop. It happens all the time.

I don't quite understand it. But if you weren't brought up with someone telling you not to do it, I guess you're not sensitive to that stuff?

btw I think 311 generally works. We've used it with neighbors that play their music too loud.
