I am only training for a marathon.

The end of May I will be running a 26.2 mile race.  That is the easy part.  The real work is being ready.  You  got to put in those 20s.  Yesterday I did a 20.  I ran from Grand Army Plaza to the Brooklyn Bridge.  Crossed Manhattan and then ran up the Hudson River to 59th St.  Cut through Central Park (WTF, the water fountains were off.) and got on the 59th St Bridge.  Took Queens Blvd East and got a little lost till I actually got to Flushing Meadow Park.  Click this for the route.  It took me about 4 and a half hours.  I stopped at 2 Starbucks for water and to pee.  I got a little lost in Rego Park, so I am calling my millage at 20.

But, please, don't be impressed.  For me it was an adventure.  I wanted to get to Flushing Meadow for a reason.  It is the middle of 18th Anual Self-Transcendence Ten Day Race.  Click here for their blog

My friend Louis Rios is running the 6 day race.  So is Phil McCarthy.

I was not able to stick around and take more photos because a ride home suddenly became available.  If you zoom in you can see that Phil is currently in the lead with 127 miles and Louie has 79.  This is day 2 of 6.

Before last years race I wich Louie luck on his race.  He said, "It is not a race, it's a meditatin."

Dodging cars on Queens Blvd was somethign else.
