This is the One

Every New Yorker has an opinion as to which "Ray's Pizza" is the original.  It is not just a right, but a duty. Every New Yorker is required to give a significant amount of thought into which is the original Ray's Pizza.  However if you don't agree that it is the store on 6th Ave and W 11th Street, you are wrong.

Like the sign says"This is the one and only Famous Ray's of Greenwich Village store.  We are not affiliated with any other...."

Other stores can call themselves Ray's Pizza.  They are not.
You can think they are the original Ray's Pizza.  You are wrong.

BTW  I ate there once.  The pizza was horrible.  Much to think and much to many toppings.  It is pizza for tourists.  If you are visiting New York you can save a lot of money and time and go to any of the other Ray's Pizzas.

  1. I think I'll stick to my pizza:) I lived in the Bronx and I ate the most delicious pizza there all the time, but I don't remember the name of the pizzeria, it was rather small and it was on 187th St, near Arthur Avenue market.

  2. I would actually recommend skipping Ray's altogether and going to either Patsy's (any of several locations now) or John's on Bleecker St. John's is FANTASTIC, but they don't sell individual slices, so you need to commit to a whole pie.
