Happy Birthday Mom
Today is her birthday. She is down in South Florida and she asked me to share my run with her. She read my blog last week and she asked me to see if I could send my experience all the way to Palm Beach County.
This is what she experienced.
On my way to Prospect Park I saw a pack of Jehovah's Witnesses. I really don't think much of these people but one of them picked up a piece of litter. Now I think a little better of them.
The Park was very quiet, but I noticed the horses. A pair of them with Police on them. There was also a flock of geese. They were flying very low, landing on the lake. The lake was a little frozen and the geese landed right on top of a family of ducks. It was like bumper cars, ducks just getting bounced around.
Also near the lake I saw a women calmly tracking a hawk in a giant camera. She was so busy looking in the lens she lost the bird. I found it for her.
A large truck was backing into the back entrance to the Prospect Park Zoo. I was making that truck backing up beeping sound. This totally freaked out the troop of Hamadryas baboons that live near the back entrance to the zoo. I have run by the back of the Animal Lifestyles building thousands of times in the past 20 years and have not seen the monkeys climbing on the back of there enclosure till today. Wow.
I also noticed that the Parks Dept trimmed a lot of trees this Winter. The Spring and Summer will be noticeably prettier.
Mom, I hope you enjoyed your birthday.
