It is not always pretty.
I did not have to go far to find something worthy of a photo. Around the corner from my house there is a small parking lot. The sidewalk in front of it is usually pretty dirty. Maybe because nobody "lives" behind that 30 foot stretch of sidewalk, but probably because nobody sweeps it. There are two giant planters on either side of the entrance to the small parking lot.
Here is a closer look at one of the planters. (notice the abundant litter). But a fish! There is a fish on it.
Someone went to the effort of bringing this fish to Union Street and placing it upon his planter. They may have bought in a pet shop or from a fish monger. They may have caught it in the Gowanus Canal, Prospect Lake or the Atlantic Ocean.
They could have put it in the trash, ate it or fed it to another animal. But the placed it on top of a concrete planter.
Go figure......
Ha, what an odd site! It must not have been there long as I assume a local feline would make a meal of it rather quickly.
ReplyDeleteAn odd sight indeed! I wonder how long it will remain there? Can't imagine that it would be very long! Lots of hungry critters out there!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

That does seem an odd place to leave a fish.

2 days later it is still there. Just on the ground.
ReplyDeleteI usually find fish in my pants...after they come out of the dryer, no less!!! What the hell?
