I spend the better part of the afternoon making cotton candy.
Thanks for the photo, Brian. |
I have also helping out at road races. I have actually directed a few and get paid to do it sometimes. I like to make sure people are having a good time when they are supposed to be having a good time. I also volunteer in The Brooklyn Visitors Center. When someone walk over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan I can tell them what to do with the rest of their day.
I guess what I am trying to say is that there are plenty of opportunities to help those who need it the most; There are plenty of volunteers that take the neediest people and help make them OK. I help them by giving them money, because I know that is really what they need.
I like to take the OK people and make them even better.
Love what you did with your hair.

Great job today! And you're right, volunteering is fun!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I often volunteer at a local charity organization in our town, we help pack the boxes of clothes that will be sent to needy people in developing countries. I love cotton candy!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it felt great when I volunteered with members of my running club last November at the start of the 2010 NYC Marathon. I really got to see how things look like from another point-of-view instead of from the runner's point-of-view.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Volunteering is a great way to give back and have fun! Judging from that picture, I'm guessing this recent experience left a real impact (in the form of a thick sticky layer of sugar!)
ReplyDeleteLove it, Mike! I need to volunteer more.
