Why we need raised pedestrian islands in crosswalks. (Update)

In just one walk down the bike lane on Prospect Park West I took these photos. 

These car drivers thought is was OK to just pull over because it was convenient.  

The only thing that stops them is a curb.  That is why we need more curbs.

Kids have to line up in the bike lane to get ice cream.



Just pulled in to use the phone.  This will make it dangerous for pedestrians to cross the bike lane.


 The driver was actually sitting on a nearby park bench.  Couldn't care less.


The good news is that if you are not in your car you get it towed.  Even at 7:10 am.

  1. I understand, however, that you don't have to pay for the tow if you are in the car and dead at the time.
