Anyway, the kids were happy to toss stones into the East River and then play in the Main Street Lot. (No, I did not take the photo at right, I copied it from pictureinfocus on Flikr.) It was taken from the Manhattan Bridge.
When the kids were playing I laid on a bench and relaxed. Below were my views. It is what I saw without getting up.

There was an abundance of porta potties but my daughter needed plumbing. I asked some nice grownups where there was a kid friendly bathroom. They said everyone always goes to Bubby's.
Got some bad news for people who need to pee. Bubby's was closed today by the Dept of Health. (From personal experience I know that passing or failing a Dept of Health Inspection can have nothing to to with anything, so good luck Bubby's) Good news is that there is a Starbucks on the next block. (I can count on one hand the number of times I spent money in Starbucks, but have now idea how many times I have used one of their toilets.)
On the way home we stopped to play in Carroll Park. I snapped the photo at left at a moment when the sprinkle was relatively empty. But is was rarely like that. Most of the time is was full of kids. All different kinds of kids. Kids that walked there, or scooted there, or biked there. Nobody drove there. I was back on my planet.
Looks like you had some nice views. Hope you're enjoying the summer.
