What was the MTA thinking??? (Update)

Update:  Now that the MTA has decided "token clerks" are unnecessary they just removed the booth and keep the gates open all the time.  Problem solved.

Evenings and Weekends this is what you get when you walk down the stairs to the Subway at Borough Hall/Court Street at the corner of Court and Joralemon.

It would not be so bad, but you also get this:

An exit only turnstile

That is no big deal but this is what you see from the street

Nowhere does it say that you can not enter the subway. It says Enter with or buy MetroCard, or see the agent across the street.

But you can't. People walk down those steps all day long and can't get in. Some even swipe their MetroCard and walk into the locked gate on the other side. They banged their noses and lost their fares.

They don't have to put someone in the booth 24/7 and open the gates. They could change the signage, but that would be really confusing.

The MTA needs to spend a few bucks and install one of these.

  2. The sign clearly has the hours of operation and it clearly doesn't list weekends. What else did you want exactly?

They put the gates on the wrong side of the turnstiles.
