I used to watch her father in Union Square

I used to watch her father in Union Square and as soon as I heard her voice I knew who she was. She is the daughter of Joe Ades he was featured in Vanity Fair and was on the Today Show I never got to buy a peeler from him, he died this Winter. I took her up on her offer of buy 4 get 1 free. "You will only need one, but you must have at least 4 friends.... They make great gifts." Let me know if you want one.

About 50 feed away I literally stumbled on a plaque in the ground. I wonder what there was o the life and death the life of Corp Jeremain P. Ferette. Google offered nothing. It is probably the second or third tree to be in that spot. I hope this tree does batter than the plaque.

Then I walked into the Brooklyn Tourism Office (What a nice group of people.) I was about to leave and they said I can't "the tour is about to start." Got a nice 45 minute tour of Borough Hall. Nice, the building was built around 1845 and stopped being interesting in 1899 when the City of Brooklyn was consumed by New York.

  12. Thanks for posting the Corp. Jeremain P. Ferette memorial placard, I will look for it. It would seem he was killed either in the Ypres-Lys Offensive or the Battle of the Somme in 1918. I looked for his name in the regimental roster (1917) but wasn't able to find it. Here is some nice history on the NY 106th if you're interested: http://dmna.state.ny.us/historic/reghist/wwi/infantry/106thInf/106thInfMain.htm
