I took my daughter to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden NJ

I took my daughter to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden NJ

Don't make a joke, she is the shadow in front of the hippo!!

Two summers ago the whole family made a 3 day trip to Philadelphia. On the way home we stopped at the Aquarium. It was packed on this summer day. I don't know why so many people made this a summer vacation destination, It was mostly indoors. I put it in my head to go back on a day that was ok to drive 95 miles but not so nice outdoors. Today was the day. There was plenty of elbow room at the aquarium. We had a wonderful time.

There is just something that makes the Adventure Aquarium different from other similar places. We have been to all the zoos in New York City also collectively know as The Wildlife Conservation Society, The New England Aquarium in Boston, The National Aquarium in Baltimore, The Philadelphia Zoo, The National Zoo in Washington DC. The first thing that make the Adventure Aquarium different is that it is a .com and the other places are .org or .edu. Different. At the Adventure Aquarium each room full of fish had its own music; there is no soundtrack at the Coney Island Aquarium. At the Adventure Aquarium the people who work there are known as "CAST", just like all the employees at Disney World.

We still had a good time.

  1. If you drove you missed the one impression of this Aquarium which I have, also evocative of a Disney experience: the view from the ferry (from Penns Landing in Philly).

As you approach the Aquarium, it at least appears to be half aquarium and half gift shop.

  2. Looks like a fun place, why just the girl? Boy didn't wish to attend?

  3. The Boy had a cold, it was good to have some alone time with the Girl.

  4. you are such a good father! But adults like the aquarium too --I get stuck on the Bronx zoo and it is nice to think out of the box. Will have to add this to the list.
