Where is evrybody the same and different at the same time

Today I spent the day with a few hundred of my neighbors. I had Jury Duty. I was not so bad.

Everybody has to go. Nobody wants to go.

Our jury system is special because it includes everybody, but so many people think they are too special to serve.

No more exceptions.

It was an honor to get a chance to participate in government.

Just a little boring. So I passed my time reading Heart of the Old Country . It turns out that Tim McLoughlin wrote it wile employed by the Kings County Supreme Court. Small world....

But if you know anyone who wants to learn to speak Brooklyn, tell them to spend a few days in the Jury Waiting Room on the 2nd floor of the Jay Street Court House.

It seams part of the American culture to hate/avoid Jury Duty. I am wondering if this is a global attitude?

  1. I've never done jury duty, but would find the process interesting. I have tons of friends that HATE jury duty.
