We drove to Ocean City NJ for a few days. I was great to see lots of aunts, uncles and cousins and what a great place to spend time with family. We went last year at did many of the same things this year but I brought my camera this year.
We rode big bikes
We screamed on rides at Playland's Castaway Cove. We bought $120 word of ride tickets at one time. "Wow", I said to my cousin. 6 kids all had a wild crazy time for 2 hours. Not a bad deal. It is easy to spend money in Ocean City. But when I did I felt good, I felt like I was supporting a truly local economy. Not like the feeling I got in Disney World when I felt like I was just supporting some investors.
We ate a lot of ice cream in Ocean City. Actually we had frozen custard at Kohr Bros (Better than ice cream) and Polish Water Ice (Better than italian ices.) Every clerk asked me if I wanted a kiddie size for my kiddies. Good business, kinda the opposite of "Do you want fries with that?"
and we played at the beach.
All good, very good
Awe Mike, lovely
ReplyDeleteI had to share it with my fb peeps. :)
gil
That looks like a great time!
ReplyDeleteI am also a N.Y.er
ReplyDeleteGrew up in Philly and caught the Ocean City bug along time ago. I now have a house there and make the trek every weekend because although there are prettier towns nearby, there is something about O.C.
Enjoyed your pics.
