Oh god, where are my balls?

It was one of the warmest New Year's Days in a while but it was still in the high 40s and breezy at the beach.

It is kinda a bizarre tradition for people to go for a dip on January 1.

Traffic was backed up as we approached the beach.  None of my passengers believed that anyone else was going for a dip.  But they were.  The center chunk of the beach was as crowded as any summer day.

I did everything but donate $

Rules

  1. Congrats again! Why didn't you ask me to pledge?

  4. "Bear fat" and "yelling is optional". I love it!
My home city (Vancouver, British Columbia) has a New Year's Day Polar Bear Swim, but I've never tried it. My hometown (a Vancouver suburb) used to have a jump-off-the-pier thing on New Year's Day. I never tried that, either. Here in Alberta, the water is all frozen.
Bravo, although I'm surprised at you not raising money. Under the gruff exterior, you are a community-minded kinda guy, as all your regular readers can tell.
All the best to you and your family for 2012.
